Hui He Soprano
The Chinese soprano, Hui He, belongs to one of the most considerable Verdi and Puccini voices worldwide. After her wins of prestigious international singing competitions, such as the Operalia Plácido Domingo 2000 in Los Angeles and 2002 the Concorso Voci Verdiane, the rapid rise of the young soprano quickly shifted to Europe.
After initial successes in her home country for example 1998 as Aida during a guest performance of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Shanghai and as Santuzza|Cavalleria rusticana in the following year, Hui He sang her first Tosca at the Teatro Regio di Torino in 2002, followed by engagements as Alzira at the Verdi Festival in Parma, as Aida in Lucca and Rome, as well as Amelia|Un ballo in maschera in Verona and Bolzano.
Since then Hui He has performed at almost all major opera houses worldwide, including New York, London, Milan, Vienna, Rome, Paris, Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Valencia, Barcelona, Israel, Copenhagen and Hong Kong. Furthermore she sang, amongst others, in Verona, Torre del Lago, Florence, Salerno, Genoa, Trieste, Parma, Piacenza and Busseto, in Athens, Toulouse, Wiesbaden, Stuttgart, Cologne, Dortmund, in Masada, Chicago and Beijing.
With her starring role as Aida Hui He can be heard regularly at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, at the Teatro alla Scala in Milano and at the Arena di Verona, furthermore at the State Operas of Munich and Vienna, at the Maggio Musicale in Florence, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, at Rome Opera, in Palermo, Masada, Chicago and Cologne.
As Cio-cio-san|Madama Butterfly, another of her outstanding roles, Hui He recently appeared at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, and she was guest at Munich's State Opera, in Copenhagen, Toulouse, Genoa, Turin, at the State Operas of Vienna and Berlin, at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, in Verona, Paris, Athens and Milan.
She embodied Tosca inter alia at the Frankfurt Opera, in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, in Milan, Florence, Tel Aviv, at Torre del Lago, in Salerno, Bordeaux and Turin.
Further significant roles of Hui He's repertoire include e.g. La Gioconda, Amelia, Ariadne|Ariadne auf Naxos, Maddalena|Andrea Chénier, Lina|Stiffelio, Manon Lescaut, Liù|Turandot and Odabella|Attila. In the fall of 2011 she embodied Soong Ching-Ling in the Chinese opera Dr. Sun Yat-sen in Beijing and Hong Kong.
2012-13 Hui He performed as Cio-cio-san in Vienna, Munich, Berlin, Copenhagen, Barcelona und at Menorca, she sang as Tosca at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, as Aida at the MET in New York, in Verona and Palermo, as Leonora|Il trovatore in the Arena di Verona, and she gave her debut as Gioconda in Salerno.
2013-14 she sang inter alia as Aida at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, as Amelia in Beijing, and as Tosca and Gioconda at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Furthermore she will perform i.a. as Leonora in Sao Paolo and Beijing, as Cio-cio-san at the Vienna State Opera and at the MET in New York, as Amelia in Hanover and Verona, and as Aida as well at Arena di Verona.
Future plans include engagements as Cio-cio-san in Oslo, Berlin and Vienna, as Manon Lescaut in the Oman, as Tosca in Palermo and Chicago, and as Aida in Beijing.
