  • Nessun dorma! - Rudy Park - Calaf

Rudy Park Tenor

Tenor Rudy Park (Park Ji-Eung) began his vocal studies in South Korea, before he moved to Italy in 2002, where he studied at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome. This was followed by courses and master classes in Italy and Germany, both in opera as in the song repertoire.

Since 2003, Park took part in numerous competitions, winning the tenth international competition Anemos in Rome, the XI International Competition in Filignano "Mario Lanza", and the II International Opera Competition in Luciano Neroni Ripatransone (AP). In 2009 he won the competition of the Fondazione Arena di Verona, organized for the preparation of Turandot, and took over in a new production the role of Prince Calaf.

Park's performance was hailed by the press as much by the audience and many invitations in opera houses throughout Italy quickly followed. In October of that year he made his debut in the new production of Norma, singing Pollione in a Grand Tour of the Municipal Theatres of Tuscany, Lombardy and Trentino.

At the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari Park performed for the first time in the role of Torbeno in Shardana. In the summer 2010 he returned as Cavaradossi in Tosca also with great success. In 2011 Rudy Park sang the title role of Ernani at Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

Rudy Park has an active concert career: to mention as career highlight his participation in the Gala "Ten Tenors for Mario" on the twenty fifth anniversary of the death of Mario del Monaco, alongside artists such as Fabio Armiliato, Nicola Martinucci, Lando Bartolini, and Vincenzo Bello in the Arena di Verona.

After his Korean operatic debut as Don Ottavio Rudy Park soon debuted roles like Nemorino, Alfredo Germont, Turiddu, Rodolfo in La Boheme, Duke of Mantua. His repertoire includes Radames and Manrico.
