Virginia Todisco Soprano
Virginia Todisco was born in Naples and studied singing at the Conservatory of Salerno and with her father, the tenor Nunzio Todisco.
In 1998, the young soprano made her debut at the Teatro Municipal di Rio de Janeiro as Elisabetta|Don Carlo. The following year she sang for the first time Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Leonora|Trovatore at the Teatro Bellini in Catania and again Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Coccia in Novara.
In 2000, Virginia Todisco made his debut as Santuzza|Cavalleria rusticana at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona. In the same season she was selected in Marseille to sing the title role in the premiere of new opera by Alberic Magnard Bérénice. The premiere was a personal success for the young singer and was broadcast on French radio and TV worldwide.
In 2003 she sang for Opera Catalunya in Spain their first Leonora|La Forza del Destino, debuted as Aida at the Festival in the ruins of Tyre in Lebanon and returned as Elisabetta|Don Carlo to the Teatro Massimo of Palermo.
In 2004 she sang Santuzza at the Opera of Rome, followed by a production of Don Carlo on the Megaron of Athens in 2005 and Aida in the Caracalla Spas. In April 2008, Virginia Todisco debuted - also at the Rome Opera - as Minnie|La Fanciulla del West and lateron as Maddalena|Andrea Chénier and Santuzza at Stadttheater Gießen.
In the 2008/09 season she made her company debut with the title role of Aida in Baltimore, in 2009 she sang Tosca in Rome. In the last season 2010-11 Virginia Todisco returned to Gießen as Ilara|Lo Schiavo.
In 2011-12 season one of her next engagements will be to sing in a Gala at Teatro Municipale G. Verdi in Salerno together with Renato Bruson.
The repertoire of the soprano Virginia Todisco include leading roles in: Un Ballo in Maschera, Il Trovatore, Don Carlo, Ernani, Otello, Aida, Tosca, La Forza del destino, Il Tabarro, Manon Lescaut, Cavalleria Rusticana and Andrea Chénier.
